I am a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of Iowa. One core question that permeates my research interests is how healthy aging and the aging body are discursively constructed and enacted within medical and institutional settings. My research interests include medical anthropology, sociocultural anthropology, critical gerontology, embodiment, care, and Taiwan.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University in the City of New York, where I worked with older adults across community-based practicums. I received my BA in Gender and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Anthropology at New York University.

While training as an anthropologist, I remain a gerontological social worker at heart. I am committed to community-engaged scholarship that bridges ethnographic research and advocacy for older adults.
